Overview
We are looking for a temporary Legal Secretary for 3 months to provide proactive and comprehensive support to four fee earners, delivering a full secretarial and administrative service. The position requires close collaboration with secretarial colleagues to ensure consistent and efficient support across the team. The successful candidate must demonstrate excellent organisational and communication skills, along with the ability to manage emails and phone calls with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities
- Typing from dictation
- Producing, formatting, and amending documents
- Applying for searches and Land Registry applications
- Managing client communications via telephone and email
- Diary management, including arranging meetings, accommodation and travel as required
- Support with business development initiatives
- File management, including opening and closing files, conducting compliance checks, and scanning and saving documents to the document management system
- Assisting with billing and financial management
Experience and Skills
- Proactive and resourceful, able to anticipate needs and take initiative without waiting for direction
- A confident and skilled communicator, able to liaise effectively with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders at all levels
- Highly organised, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Critical thinker who can suggest improvements where necessary
- Self-starter, able to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively with minimal supervision
- Adaptable with a flexible approach to work and the ability to switch between tasks effortlessly
- Confident in using technology, including advanced proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Teams
- Property experience is preferable but not essential; full training will be given
