You will support the Head of Risk, Compliance & Knowledge in delivering a specialist risk and compliance service across the firm. Working closely with partners, legal teams and business services colleagues, you will provide expert guidance on complex regulatory matters and help ensure compliance across the sectors we serve, including housing, property, social business and charities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical advice on SRA Standards & Regulations, AML, conflicts, data protection and wider regulatory requirements.
- Lead compliance audits, investigations and risk reviews, identifying improvements and driving best practice.
- Manage professional indemnity claims and support complaints handling and regulatory reporting.
- Deliver training, guidance and challenge to partners and senior stakeholders on risk and compliance matters.
- Lead projects responding to regulatory change and emerging compliance risks across the firm.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Significant legal sector risk and compliance experience with strong knowledge of SRA regulation, AML, conflicts and data protection.
- Proven ability to interpret complex legislation and apply regulatory requirements within a commercial legal practice.
- Confidence to influence, challenge and support partners and senior stakeholders on compliance issues.
- Experience of claims management, compliance audits and regulatory investigations.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to deliver clear advice, training and written guidance.
