About the candidate
The clients you will work with are mostly drawn from the third sector, primarily the social housing sector. Detailed knowledge and experience of housing governance is preferable but not obligatory, although you will have strong experience in corporate governance and company law generally.
You will be interested in the world from our clients’ perspectives, and curious and engaged about their businesses.
Working typically with our clients’ Executive Officers and Leadership Teams, their Boards and Chairs on matters that are generally highly strategic and often confidential, you will be expected to demonstrate integrity and discretion at all times.
You will have a personable and professional demeanour in leading client relationships, able to build strong relationships quickly and effectively and show good communication skills.
It goes without saying you will have exemplary standards of written work and drafting skills with very strong attention to detail. You will also have experience of public speaking in front of clients and colleagues individually and in groups including delivering training and presenting advice verbally.
You will have good personal organisation and time management skills, demonstrable project- and client-management skills and the ability to build good relationships of trust and confidence with peers and with clients.
You will have good leadership skills which you will draw on to work successfully in and across teams and other departments including Funding, Property, Construction, Regulatory, Employment & Pensions and Commercial. You will be able to manage colleagues successfully to deliver work to you as required.
You will be expected to deliver projects in your own name (with support from colleagues as required), to supervise tasks carried out by, and potentially to take on responsibility for line managing, less experienced colleagues.
