Are you a hands-on problem solver who enjoys being out in the field rather than stuck behind a desk? We are seeking an Installation Engineer to join our growing team, supporting the installation and maintenance of innovative hardware infrastructure on agricultural sites across the UK.
The Role
This is a primarily field-based position where no two days are the same. You will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and upgrading equipment across various customer environments, specifically farms and equine yards.
- Deployment & Maintenance: Lead the installation of hardware on-site, ensuring all devices are fully operational through diagnostic and configuration tasks.
- Unique Environments: You will work around livestock (cattle and horses) and must be comfortable working at heights using ladders, cherry pickers, or temporary platforms.
- Travel: This role requires significant travel ******%) across the UK, often visiting multiple sites per week.
- Documentation: Maintain clear records of installations, including photos, site access notes, and physical layout details.
- Safety First: Conduct Point of Work Risk Assessments (POWRA) and ensure all installations meet technical and safety guidelines.
Who You Are
We are looking for a versatile professional who takes pride in high-quality service, has exposure to agriculture & farming, and would be comfortable working in this environment to carry out physical installation work.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Hands-on Experience: Practical experience with tools, networking, or construction in a related sector - essentially, we need somebody happy to work in a physical capacity and get their hands dirty (specific training on the product can be provided).
- Independence: Ability to manage your own schedule and solve problems proactively in the field.
- Communication: Clear written and verbal communication for reporting and client interaction.
Requirements:
- A full UK driving licence is essential for this role.
- Location: Ideally based in Derbyshire or nearby, to facilitate proximity to our HQ in Belper.
Desirable Extras:
- Networking Knowledge: Understanding of TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VLANs, and firewalls.
- Hardware Familiarity: Experience with routers, network switches, and wireless access points.
- Sector Experience: Prior experience working in agricultural or equestrian environments.
Qualifications: IPAF 3A and 3B certifications (or equivalent).
