Summary Of Role & Key Responsibilities

As a Consultant in our Reporting and Disclosure team, you will be highly client-focused, supporting projects which allow organizations to communicate their progress on sustainability. This will include gathering, synthesis and informed analysis of project inputs, preparing deliverables and supporting client meetings. Importantly, you will be a proficient writer with a desire to develop this skill further. In most project engagements, you will be supported by a more experienced senior as the project lead. Alongside this, many in our team contribute to our long‑term growth through helping the team with business development and marketing opportunities. As a Consultant you will typically be line managed by a Principal Consultant or an Associate Director. While you will not always be working on projects with your line manager, their role is to help guide, support and manage your performance and growth in Anthesis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Client & Project Delivery – 90% of time
    • Project Management – supporting the management of consulting engagements/projects on time, on budget, and to high standards of quality.
    • Research & Analysis – gathering, synthesising and analysing sometimes large and diverse inputs, both qualitative and quantitative, primary and secondary, in pursuit of project objectives.
    • Deliverable Drafting & Presentation – preparing and delivering high quality reports, presentations, and sometimes workshops in line with project scope and with an eye for detail.
    • Client Relationship Building – earning the confidence and trust of client teams, and representing our direct clients’ interests effectively inside their organisations.
  • Business Development – 5% of time
    • Key Account Development – helping to guide and support deeper and longer‑term partnerships with valuable and impactful clients over time.
    • Proposal / Bid Writing & Presentation – discussing, framing, designing, pricing and presenting project proposals (with the guidance and support of colleagues).
    • Thought Leadership & Marketing – supporting the team and wider business in lead generation and brand‑building through the creation of IP and marketing materials.
  • Organisational & Personal Development – 5% of time
    • Training & Personal Development – using the ACE (Anthesis Centre of Excellence) learning and development platform, coaching from more experienced colleagues, and guided by your line manager.
    • Strategic & Organisational Initiatives – contributing to important internal initiatives, proposition development and innovation.

Key Requirements

  • Natural flair for writing, with desire to develop this skill within a multi‑disciplinary team.
  • At least 2 years’ professional experience, ideally in ESG reporting consulting.
  • ESG / sustainability‑focused experience, with good knowledge of the sustainability framework landscape, namely ESRS/CSRD, IFRS/ISSB, and GRI.
  • Good understanding of CSRD requirements including the concept of double materiality.
  • Good working familiarity with MS Office Suite is required, with high levels of numeracy and good Excel skills preferred.
  • Understanding of ESG data collection platform landscape and experience of implementing data systems with clients or in‑house is desirable.
  • Previous experience conducting a materiality/double materiality assessment in‑house or for a client is desirable.
