Anthem Schools Trust is seeking a senior estates leader to take responsibility for estates strategy, statutory compliance, capital planning and sustainability across a multi-academy trust of 15 schools. This role combines strategic leadership with operational accountability. You will be responsible for ensuring Anthem’s estate is safe, compliant, financially sustainable and fit for the future.
The Role
- Lead Anthem’s estates and sustainability function, with accountability for developing and delivering a 5-year Estates and Sustainability Strategy, aligned to Anthem’s education priorities.
- Produce and deliver a prioritised, costed 10-year capital, maintenance and decarbonisation plan.
- Ensure robust statutory compliance frameworks across all schools, supported by clear systems, ownership and assurance.
- Lead capital projects and major works, ensuring delivery to scope, budget and programme.
- Act as Anthem’s Sustainability Lead, delivering the Climate Action Plan and decarbonisation priorities.
- Establish a Trust-wide estates and sustainability dashboard, using data to drive decision-making and risk management.
- Lead procurement and contract management, securing value for money and consistent service standards.
- Provide clear advice, challenge and support to headteachers and senior leaders.
- Lead and develop the estates function across multiple regions.
About You
You will bring senior-level experience managing estates across a complex or multi-site organisation. You will have:
- Strong experience of statutory compliance, health and safety and risk management.
- A proven track record of delivering capital programmes and managing contractors and consultants.
- Experience developing and delivering multi-year estates strategies and investment plans.
- Strong commercial and contract management capability.
- Confidence using data to inform planning, prioritisation and performance.
- The ability to translate technical issues into clear advice for non-specialists.
- Experience or a clear interest in sustainability and decarbonisation.
You will be credible, pragmatic and able to operate at both strategic and operational levels.
