About the Position

We are excited to have a Senior Arboricultural Consultant opportunity in a fast-growing Environmental Planning (EP) team based in the United Kingdom. Whilst you will initially be part of a relatively small team, this position comes with the opportunity to help shape the future, and the prospect of being part of a far bigger picture as a member of both the global Antea community and the global Inogen Alliance. Whilst we offer hybrid roles, feeling an integral part of a business is important to us all and regular company get-togethers give us all the opportunity to catch up in person and keep informed on company business.

This is a hands-on role, providing specialist tree advice on a wide range of issues including pre-planning tree surveys and reports, tree risk assessment, assessment of tree stability and diagnosis of tree health and disease.

To be successful in this role, individuals must demonstrate:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in relevant subject with appropriate experience; and/ or
  • A minimum of level 3, or above, arboricultural qualification.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.

You should be experienced in the knowledge and application of:

  • BS 5837: 2012 Planning and development work,
  • BS 3998:2010 Tree Work – Recommendations,
  • BS 42020 2013 Biodiversity – Code of practice for planning and development, and
  • The Conservation of Habitats and Species Regulations 2017.

A sound knowledge of visual tree assessment and experience in delivering baseline condition assessments, arboricultural impact assessments, arboricultural method statements, completing tree hazard surveys and preparation of associated reports, and the provision of arboricultural advice both internally and to clients on development related projects.

Knowledge of Tree Preservation Orders and UK Planning Legislation is essential. You will need to have a clear commercial understanding of the industry, coupled with excellent communication skills at all levels, as well as good project/client management and personal organisational skills, and work well as part of a team.

You will have the ability to work closely with Local Authority Tree Officers, Planners, Architects, Ecologists and other professionals. You will also need to be proficient in the use of industry standard software to include Microsoft applications and ideally AutoCAD.

A full driving licence is required, as is a willingness to travel throughout the UK and spend short periods of time away from home, as necessary.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Our EHS consulting operation in the United Kingdom is supported by our sister company, Antea Group USA.

This position will be a hybrid role, being primarily homebased with periodic travel required to Antea Group offices or client premises in the United Kingdom. Some project locations will require overnight travel (up to 25%). The successful candidate must have the right to work in the UK.
