<p>There is an exciting opportunity for a Head of Capital Modelling to join our growing team.</p><p>This role will be responsible for overseeing a diverse portfolio of models, offering a dynamic and stimulating environment, and immense personal and professional satisfaction. As Head of Capital, you’ll play a critical role in driving the long-term success of the organisation. You’ll lead a talented team of ten, working in a supportive and productive environment that values exceptional standards alongside professional growth and work-life balance. This role provides significant autonomy, encouraging creative thinking and out-of-the-box solutions.</p><p>You’ll collaborate closely with key stakeholders across various departments, including Reserving, Risk, Exposure Management, Catastrophe Modelling, R&D, Investments, Ceded Reinsurance, and Underwriting. This will also involve working closely with senior leaders such as Entity CEOs, CUOs, and Chief Actuaries.</p><p>Capital Modelling reports into the Chief Technical Officer (previously Head of Capital), who is committed to leveraging Capital Modelling to drive strategic decision-making. The department’s strong track record and reputation drives a high level of engagement from the Executive Team, and strong demand for Capital modelling insights.</p><p>This is a high-impact role that offers a high degree of autonomy and responsibility. If you’re a talented and motivated individual with a passion for capital modelling, we encourage you to apply.</p><h3>Skills & Expertise</h3><ul><li>Minimum 2:1 degree (or equivalent) in a subject with a high degree of Mathematics. E.g. Mathematics, Physics, Economics with Mathematics, Actuarial Science.</li><li>Fellow of the IFOA</li><li>10+ years of experience in Capital Modelling</li><li>15+ years of total experience in the Actuarial industry</li><li>Passionate about Capital Modelling, embracing the variety and complexity of the challenges it presents.</li><li>Comprehensive understanding of detailed Capital Modelling and parameterisation concepts across all risk types.</li><li>Possess strong technical and analytical skills to drive process and model development</li><li>Extensive experience in driving and enhancing the use of capital models for business decisions via targeted and high-quality education and stakeholder management.</li><li>Confident in communicating in a clear and concise manner, and influencing a variety of stakeholders.</li><li>Strong understanding of Lloyd’s of London and related regulatory Capital submissions.</li><li>Igloo experience desirable. Any other modelling platform is an advantage.</li><li>Ability to balance detailed modelling decisions and insights alongside pragmatism for ‘big picture’ decisions.</li><li>Ability to write high-quality technical and process documents.</li></ul><h3>Demonstrated Leadership Skills</h3><ul><li>Recruit the highest quality candidates to build and maintain a high performing function.</li><li>Inspire the department, linking deliverables to the department vision and their feed into business decisions.</li><li>Foster a fulfilling, challenging and empowered team environment.</li><li>Ensure training needs are met across all levels, covering technical and soft skills.</li><li>Strong project management of the department with clear sight and ownership of all deliverables.</li><li>Able to design, review and prioritise projects, delegate work, assign objectives, progress team members.</li><li>Share knowledge, explain complex modelling concepts and resolve queries both inside and outside the team.</li></ul><p>All applicants must have the right to work in the UK.</p> J-18808-Ljbffr
