Senior Qlik Developer in City of London

We’re looking for a talented Qlik Developer to join our Data Quality & Analytics team. In this role, you will design and deliver insightful dashboards and business analytics using Qlik, collaborating closely with business stakeholders.

You will lead on best practices in data visualisation, user experience, and data quality, while supporting training and innovation across the organisation.

Role Summary

• Production and publication of underwriting and other business-based analytics as specified by the Director of Data Quality & Analytics and other stakeholders, using the Qlik technology platform
• Supporting the Qlik Technical Architect in the development of enterprise grade applications which address complex business problems and support a “single version of the truth” information strategy
• Performing a leading role in the delivery of best practice dashboard and data visualisation design principles, analytical tools, general Information System usability and navigation
• Close liaison with senior colleagues Data Quality & Analytics function and the IT data warehouse department to help ensure source data requirements are serviced effectively
• Liaison with business representatives to ensure solutions are developed to a high standard
• Assistance with the training and education of employees to ensure suitable levels of user proficiency
• Diagnosis and resolution of any defects identified within the Qlik dashboard and analytics suite
• Supporting development of Data Quality Workflow tool rule set in SQL and utilising new data to develop management oversight dashboards in Qlik Knowledge and Qualifications

Knowledge and Qualifications

• High proficiency with Qlik technology, including scripting language and advanced level set-analysis
• Comprehensive understanding of data warehousing principles, ETL processes, data modelling, SQL and Excel
• General business acumen and ability to understand business needs and translate them into analytical requirements
• Strong experience in Qlik based development
• Proven successful background leading general business intelligence and data visualisation projects
• Strong SQL skills for database querying and data manipulation
• Experience with complex data modelling and ETL processes
• Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and tools preferably in an Insurance context
• Skills collaborating with stakeholders including business users and IT teams to gather requirements and deliver solutions

Key Accountabilities

• Assistance in gathering and analysing user requirements to develop functional specifications and prototype solutions.
• Leading analysts and developers to design, code, test and deploy high performance Qlik software applications
• Testing and debugging of developed applications to ensure optimal performance and user experience.
• Ensuring Qlik dashboards and content are consistent with specifications and meet standards established by the Director of Data Quality & Analytics
• Providing high quality technical solutions to complex business problems.
