Role Summary
- Technician role responsible for timely and accurate capturing of policy data and taking responsibility for ensuring that requirements for internal and external reporting and stakeholders are met.
- Understanding of insurance is important, and knowledge of the London Market and Lloyd's Market is desired.
- Mathematical competency and attention to detail is required, along with the ability to adapt to new circumstances and the ability choose the best course of action to ensure that data is recorded accurately based on business requirements.
- Must be able to self-manage their workload that covers various different tasks to meet competing service level requirements.
- Good communication skills are essential to work within a coordinated team and to ensure that the needs of other departments are met while still operating within the requirements of a role that is critical for data accuracy and downstream reporting, and to be able to explain process requirements and decisions to others within the business.
- IT technical understanding will be important to be able to contribute to testing and implementation of new systems as well as assisting the IT department with system changes, and to understand the limitations and requirements of reporting and be able to communicate these to others.
- Key Accountabilities
- Policy data entry and general support
- Controls all aspects of the business accounting process for a portfolio of clients
- Has a team-based attitude to ensure all team responsibilities are fulfilled
- Constantly seeks to improve practices and procedures within own area of responsibility, ensuring the maintenance of an effective control environment
- Ensures productive working relationships with all internal and external customers
- Takes ownership of own personal development
- Takes responsibility for own and colleagues’ Health & Safety at all times
- To ensure customers are treated fairly at all times, in accordance with the Conduct Risk Policy and other relevant policies and procedures.
- To be aware and adhere to all obligations under GDPR, ensuring that the business complies with these requirements.
- To avoid breaches and to report them to the Data Protection Officer when they occur regardless of whether electronic or on paper.
