Key Accountabilities
- Take ownership of the finance aspects of onboarding new MGA relationships, translating differing commercial agreements, operating models and data structures into effective, controlled finance processes.
- Assess MGA-specific structures, revenue drivers, systems and reporting requirements, and design scalable reporting, consolidation and control frameworks.
- Work closely with Finance Change, IT, underwriting services and other stakeholders to ensure appropriate systems configuration, data flows and controls are established.
- Challenge existing processes and system set-ups where required to ensure solutions are fit-for-purpose, robust and sustainable for ongoing reporting.
- Ownership for the end-to-end financial close process and reporting for the assigned QIC Antares group of entities, with primary focus on MGA's.
- Responsible for preparing, reviewing full trial balances, balance sheet, income statements and financial reporting packs for the assigned QIC Antares group of entities, primarily MGA's.
- Develop and maintain a strong understanding of the Policy Admin Systems in place and their application.
- Understand the basis for booking commission, earnings, and related items.
- Record commission income in the Workday general ledger in line with binding agreements and underwriting data within the Quantum Underwriting System.
- Reconcile relevant technical balances, including premiums, commissions, and claims.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders, including underwriting services, IT, and finance.
- Manage the MGA's intercompany alignment at the appropriate consolidation level, liaising with relevant finance teams to investigate and resolve intercompany discrepancies.
- Review and analyse the MGA's financial reports, investigating discrepancies and making adjustments as necessary.
- Provide insightful commentary on financial results, and where appropriate, coordinate with other finance teams to incorporate their input into the reporting packs.
- Take ownership of the preparation and delivery of Monthly and Quarterly Financial Packs for the assigned group(s) of entities, including:
- Monthly Management Returns (MMR)
- Closing Packs (CP)
- Regulatory returns (where applicable)
- Statutory reporting
