Reporting in to the Head of Tax, you will have responsibility for the day to day management of the direct tax compliance and reporting processes. As part of the Antares Global tax team, you will work closely with our Qatar tax colleague and our global finance team. Our team leads all aspects of planning and strategic support, direct and indirect tax compliance and tax accounting for Antares Global and its subsidiaries.
Knowledge and Qualifications
- Post qualified ACA, CTA, CA or ACCA experience within insurance either in industry or a large accountancy firm.
Skills and Demonstrated Experience
- A strong knowledge of UK Corporation Tax.
- Lloyds market experience.
- Good experience in tax accounting packages and good excel skills and ERP systems (Workday or similar).
- Must be well organised and self-motivated with a consistent record of delivery.
- Enthusiastic and eager to achieve in a high performing team.
- Excellent stakeholder management, relationship building and influencing skills at senior management level.
- An effective communicator (written and verbal) with the ability to share ideas with others in a way that can be easily understood.
Key Accountabilities
- Responsible for the preparation and reporting of the group quarterly Antares Global tax provisions under IFRS and liaison with the Qatar tax team.
- Preparation and reporting of BEPS Pillar Two top up taxes for both QIC Group and local jurisdictional level.
- Local GAAP statutory tax reporting (preparation of provisions and disclosures along with tax balance reconciliations as part of the year-end process).
- Planning and forecasting; solvency II; management reporting.
- Tax cash payments and tax forecasting.
- Preparation of impact assessment models and gap-fit analysis based on the ERP reporting system (workday).
- Support with developing tax compliance solutions and identify opportunities for efficiencies through greater automation of tax reporting and compliance processes.
- Delivery of outsource provision and compliance services for BEPS Pillar Two compliance.
- Managing direct tax compliance for direct UK, European and Bermuda tax returns (outsourced); Preparation and submission of information to Lloyd’s for centrally-prepared returns.
- Maintaining Group and Local tax process documentation, understanding end to end processes and ensuring control processes are operating optimally in order to support internal risk control sign off procedures and the obligations of the Senior Accounting Officer.
- Support the Transformation team providing tax input to planning and implementation of new finance systems.
- Proactively identifying and supporting improvements to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of direct tax reporting and the tax account reconciliation processes.
- Supporting Head of Tax with finance / legal / tax - driven projects, which can include working with external advisers.
- Ensuring that the Antares Global Head of Tax is made aware of any direct tax issues, exposures or opportunities.
- Assist Head of Tax on quarterly tax report to Finance Committee.
- Monitoring Uncertain Tax Provisions for Antares Global entities.
- Develop in-depth knowledge of all areas of the QIC/Antares Global business.
