Junior Research analyst
Position Summary: The Junior Research Analyst will support the investment team by conducting in-depth research and analysis on hedge funds, markets, and investment strategies. This entry-level role is ideal for a candidate with strong analytical skills, a passion for financial markets, and a desire to grow within the investment management industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research & Analysis: Conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis of hedge fund managers and their strategies. Evaluate performance, risk factors, and investment processes.
- Data Management: Collect, organize, and maintain data on hedge fund performance and other relevant financial metrics. Ensure accuracy and integrity of data.
- Reporting: Prepare detailed reports and presentations for senior analysts and portfolio managers. Assist in the creation of investment committee materials.
- Due Diligence: Participate in due diligence meetings with hedge fund managers. Assist in the assessment of fund strategies, risk management, and operational processes.
- Collaborative Projects: Work closely with senior analysts and other team members on various research projects and ad hoc analyses.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s/Master degree in Finance, Economics, Business, mathematics or statistics.
- Experience: Internship or prior experience in investment management, hedge funds, or financial services is preferred but not required.
Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint
- Knowledge of Python (a plus)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with financial databases (e.g., Bloomberg, Morningstar) is a plus.
