Antal International / Parkside Recruitment have been instructed to source a
HR Manager for a Series A Start-Up based in the City, London.
As we scale, we’re looking for an
HR Manager to build and lead the people function from the ground up.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys operating in a fast-paced environment, partnering closely with leadership, and creating the people, culture, and processes that enable a high-performing team to thrive.
You’ll have the opportunity to shape how we hire, develop, support, and retain our people — while helping build the foundations of an ambitious fintech business.
The Role As our
HR Manager , you’ll own the full HR function and act as a trusted partner to the leadership team.
You’ll balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution — from recruitment and onboarding through performance management, employee relations, policies, engagement, and people development.
This is an ideal role for an HR professional who wants significant ownership and enjoys building things rather than simply maintaining established processes.
Key Responsibilities People Strategy & Leadership
- Partner with leadership to develop and execute the company’s people strategy as we scale.
- Build HR processes, policies, and infrastructure appropriate for a growing fintech business.
- Provide leadership with practical, data-informed advice on people, organisational, and employee matters.
- Help shape and embed a high-performance, inclusive, and values-led culture.
- Support organisational planning, team structure, workforce planning, and change initiatives.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in an HR Manager or similar broad HR role, ideally within a startup, scale-up, fintech, technology, or similarly fast-moving environment.
- Strong knowledge across the full employee lifecycle and core HR disciplines.
- Experience partnering directly with senior leadership and managers.
- Comfortable operating hands-on and independently, with the ability to build processes from scratch.
- Strong understanding of employment law, HR best practice, and employee relations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to challenge constructively when needed.
- Commercially minded, pragmatic, and able to connect people initiatives to business outcomes.
- Highly organised, proactive, and comfortable managing competing priorities.
- Discreet and trusted when handling sensitive and confidential information.
- A genuine interest in building great workplaces and high-performing teams.
- What Success Looks Like
In your first year, you’ll have helped us build a strong HR foundation that can scale with the business — including effective recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee engagement, HR operations, and people policies.
More importantly, you’ll have become a trusted partner to leadership and employees, helping us build a culture where talented people can do their best work.
If you’re excited about building the people function of a growing fintech from the ground up, we’d love to hear from you.
