Overview
Our client in Hayes is looking for a Warehouse Operative to work on a permanent shift pattern (days/nights) on a 4 on 4 off rota. Hours: 7pm – 7am.
Must be able to cover 5 years\’ referencing due to CAA security.
Responsibilities
- Receive and dispatch cargo into and out of the warehouse ensuring it is handled correctly.
- Carry out warehouse duties within timeframes stated by the company.
- Ensure all documentation is completed as per requirements.
- Comply with local legislative requirements & company policies and procedures.
- Comply with all aspects of Health & Safety.
- Fork lift truck driving (counterbalance).
- Load and unload containers.
- Pallet building.
- Dangerous goods checking.
- Sort shipments to ensure everything runs smoothly and efficiently.
- Report any damages or non-compliance to supervisor or manager to be investigated.
- Contribute to the First Choice continuous improvement program.
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience of working in a busy modern warehouse.
- FLT Counter balance / reach truck licence.
- ADR / Hazardous awareness.
- Good timekeeping and organisational skills.
- Flexible and willing to take on a variety of tasks.
- Reliability and dependability.
- Self-motivated and a key member of the team.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Able to prioritise and perform under pressure.
- High level of attention to detail.
- VNA, Counterbalance and Reach forklift licenses would be beneficial, though training can be provided.
- CRB requirement.
- 5-year work history.
