Head of Risk - UK

b Overview /b p In this role you will lead the Risk Management function for a UK-regulated bank, acting as the Chief Risk Function subject to regulatory approval. You will shape the risk framework, appetite and governance, ensuring principal and emerging risks are identified, assessed and reported to the Board and committees. You will provide independent challenge to management and help drive a strong risk culture across the organization. This is a high-impact, board-facing role. /p b Pay / Benefits /b ul li Competitive salary /li li Other benefits /li /ul b Responsibilities /b ul li Lead the design, implementation and ongoing management of the Risk Management Policies, Frameworks and procedures /li li Maintain and update the Risk Management Framework (RMF) aligned with strategy and regulatory changes /li li Develop and manage the Risk Appetite Framework and advise senior management and the Board /li li Ensure robust identification, assessment, monitoring and control of key risks /li li Review risk-related policies, systems and procedures and ensure timely risk reporting to governance /li li Oversee internal risk-related reporting including KPIs, MI and dashboards /li li Provide second-line oversight of technology, information security and cyber risks /li li Develop and maintain the Business Continuity Plan and risk arrangements /li li Lead ICAAP and ILAAP development and annual maintenance /li li Oversee Stress testing, capital and liquidity risk integration and regulatory submissions /li li Engage with regulators and ensure timely remediation actions /li li Coordinate with Internal Audit and other assurance functions on risk matters /li li Promote risk culture and maintain independence of the second line of defence /li li Attend Board and governance forums as required /li li Support Board Risk Committee governance responsibilities /li /ul b Key requirements /b ul li Significant senior-level risk management experience in a regulated banking/financial services environment /li li Strong understanding of ERM, Risk Appetite Frameworks and regulatory risk (PRA/FCA/SMCR) /li li Hands-on experience with ICAAP, ILAAP, stress testing and recovery planning /li li Experience in reporting to senior management and boards; stakeholder engagement /li li Ability to provide credible independent challenge to senior stakeholders /li li Knowledge of climate-related financial risks and risk governance frameworks /li li SMF4 awareness or eligibility; governance and senior management experience /li /ul ul li Strong analytical and judgement skills /li li Excellent stakeholder-management and communication /li li Independent thinking with ability to challenge decisions /li li Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) /li li Risk Appetite Frameworks /li li ICAAP/ILAAP /li /ul
