We are looking for a results‑driven business development professional to drive sales within the UK's omnichannel retail and commerce sector. This role focuses on managing and converting a high‑intent pipeline, generated through inbound leads and partnerships. The ideal candidate will leverage their deep understanding of the local UK market to engage directly with mid‑market merchants, demonstrating how our solutions unify their online and in‑store payment experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Full‑Cycle Sales Management: Own the end‑to‑end sales cycle for a pipeline of qualified mid‑market prospects. Sources include partner referrals, inbound marketing leads, and self‑sourced opportunities.
- Omnichannel Solution Expertise: Serve as the expert on unified commerce. Consult with merchants operating both online and offline (e.g., retail, hospitality) to tailor solutions that integrate payment systems, enhance customer experience, and streamline operations.
- Partner Liaison for Lead Generation: Work collaboratively with our Partner team to understand the value proposition for key Platforms/ISVs/ISOs, effectively follow up on their referred leads, and ensure a seamless handover and sales process that strengthens the partner relationship.
- Deal Execution & Closing: Excel in structuring compelling proposals, negotiating contracts, and overcoming objections to secure new business with UK merchants. Focus on achieving and exceeding quarterly sales targets.
- Organizational Collaboration: Actively communicate and collaborate with internal teams, including partner management, marketing, and product, to drive business objectives and support client implementations.
- Local Market Authority: Maintain authoritative knowledge of the UK domestic payments landscape, consumer trends, and competitor activity to build credibility, inform strategy, and ensure all communications are market‑relevant.
Qualifications
- Proven track record of exceeding sales targets in B2B sales, preferably within payments, SaaS, or merchant services to the UK market.
- Deep understanding of the UK retail/omnichannel market and the operational challenges of merchants with both physical and digital sales channels.
