We're recruiting a Data Scientist Specialist to join a growing advanced analytics and AI delivery team working on high-impact, secure programmes. This role offers the chance to work on real-world machine learning and GenAI solutions in regulated and security-conscious environments, supporting organisations tackling complex data and technology challenges. You'll be hands-on with modern AI tooling while also playing a key role in technical leadership and delivery.
What You'll Be Responsible For:
- Designing, building, and deploying machine learning models and LLM-based solutions
- Working with modern GenAI techniques such as RAG, graph-based systems, and autonomous agents
- Deploying models into cloud and secure compute environments
- Providing technical leadership on projects and supporting the development of junior team members
- Acting as a subject-matter expert for ML, AI, and MLOps practices
- Improving engineering standards, tooling, and delivery approaches
- Communicating complex technical concepts clearly to a range of stakeholders
Skills & Experience Required:
- Strong commercial experience with Python
- Hands-on exposure to one or more of the following: Large Language Models (LLMs), Traditional or Graph-based (RAG), Agentic AI systems, Computer Vision / Vision-Language Models, Audio or signal processing.
- Experience with Docker, Linux/Unix environments, Git, and testing practices
- Experience working with a major cloud platform (AWS or Azure preferred)
- Understanding of secure data handling and governance principles
- Working with GPU-accelerated workloads
- Monitoring and observability for ML models and data pipelines
- API design and deployment
- CI/CD pipelines for data or ML platforms
- Strong DevOps and Data Engineering fundamentals

- Someone who can balance hands-on delivery with technical leadership
- Comfortable explaining technical ideas to non-technical stakeholders
- Strong problem-solving and analytical mindset
Security Clearance:
Due to the nature of the work, candidates must be eligible for SC Clearance, which typically requires a minimum of 5 years continuous UK residency.
