Systems Engineer

Location: Stevenage (Hybrid, 3 days per week on-site)

Salary: Up to £60,000 depending on experience, plus bonus and benefits

Please note: This role requires British Citizenship or Dual UK National status and successful completion of BPSS security clearance checks.

The Role

As a Systems Engineer, you will play a key role in the conception, design, and development of complex defence systems. You’ll lead system-level trade studies, define architectures, and manage technical requirements across multi-disciplinary teams. Partnering with engineering and project stakeholders, you will drive Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) practices, shape system concepts, and ensure solutions meet demanding operational requirements. You’ll also help guide less experienced engineers and contribute to process improvements across programmes.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience as a Systems Engineer on complex defence or aerospace programmes.
  • Strong background in system architecture, requirements management, and integration.
  • Proficiency with Model-Based Engineering tools and methodologies.
  • Ability to influence and communicate effectively with senior stakeholders across disciplines.
  • Experience leading or mentoring engineering teams in collaborative, agile environments.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Eligibility for BPSS security clearance; British Citizenship or Dual UK National.
