A fast-growing technology organisation in Newcastle, created through a joint venture between global consulting and investment leaders, is looking for a Technical Lead to join its newly formed engineering team. This is an outstanding opportunity for a Technical Lead who values remaining hands-on while guiding others, contributing to complex, high-impact initiatives in a challenging, delivery-driven environment.
About the role:
As a Technical Lead, you’ll work closely with engineers, stakeholders and end users to design and deliver high-quality software at pace, while helping shape technical standards and team culture from the ground up.
What you’ll be doing:
- Leading and mentoring a small team of software engineers
- Remaining hands-on with development and owning end-to-end delivery
- Translating business requirements into pragmatic technical solutions
- Collaborating closely with client teams to deliver shared outcomes
- Driving innovation and continuous improvement
- Keeping up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends
Essential requirements:
- Strong programming experience in C#/.NET, Java, Rust or Python
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- A proactive problem-solver with energy, ambition and ownership mentality
- Experience delivering software projects from start to finish
- A minimum 2:1 degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
- Financial Services experience is beneficial, not essential
