Salary: Up to £65,000
We are supporting a leading organisation within the Defence sector in the search for an RF Design Engineer to support the development of advanced electronic technologies for complex weapons systems.
This is a hands‑on engineering opportunity, focused on the research, design, development and testing of RF electronics, with exposure to cutting‑edge defence technology and practical hardware development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop RF circuits and electronic hardware across a range of frequencies.
- Work on RF components including amplifiers, filters, oscillators and synthesisers.
- Develop and modify RF circuit designs, supporting rapid prototyping where required.
- Undertake hands‑on laboratory testing, fault‑finding and design verification.
- Support PCB design, RF layout and hardware integration.
- Investigate RF performance issues and implement design improvements.
- Produce technical documentation and support design reviews.
Key Requirements:
- Experience in RF Electronics Design or RF Circuit Design.
- Practical experience designing and testing RF circuits at component level.
- Knowledge of RF components, analogue electronics and circuit design.
- Experience using RF test equipment such as VNAs, spectrum analysers and power meters.
- Familiarity with RF design and simulation tools, ideally Microwave Office.
- Understanding of PCB layout, manufacturing and design for test.
