An exciting opportunity for an Electronics Test & Calibration Engineer to join a specialist engineering team supporting the manufacture and testing of complex defence systems.
This is a hands‑on role focused on keeping sophisticated electrical and electronic test equipment operating accurately and reliably. You’ll work across everything from routine calibration and commissioning through to fault finding, repair and investigating equipment performance issues.
With exposure to technologies ranging from DC through to microwave, the role offers excellent variety and the opportunity to develop your knowledge across a broad range of test and measurement equipment.
What you’ll be doing
- Calibrate, maintain and repair electrical and electronic test equipment.
- Support specialist test equipment used throughout manufacturing, assembly and integration.
- Carry out fault finding and diagnostics down to component level.
- Investigate equipment drift and performance issues.
- Complete commissioning and routine calibration activities.
- Interpret technical drawings, specifications, manuals and test documentation.
- Take accurate measurements and determine appropriate repair solutions.
- Work closely with engineers and manufacturing teams to resolve technical issues.
- Support and share knowledge with less experienced engineers where required.
- Manage multiple maintenance and calibration activities while maintaining high standards of accuracy and throughput.
What we’re looking for
- HNC/HND in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Experience working with electronic test equipment and measurement systems.
- Practical experience in calibration, maintenance, fault finding or repair.
- Ability to diagnose and repair equipment down to component level.
- Good understanding of calibration principles and processes.
- Comfortable working from technical drawings, specifications and equipment manuals.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- SAP experience would be advantageous.
