As part of this multi-year investment in the next generation of military engineers, we're looking for a Technical Training Instructor to join a highly respected training establishment on the south coast. This is a rare opportunity to move away from tools, shifts, or deployments, and instead put your engineering knowledge to work shaping the skills of trainee engineers — without giving up the sense of purpose that comes from supporting national defence.
What you'll be doing:
- Delivering hands-on and classroom-based instruction covering electronic systems, fault-finding, and core engineering principles
- Teaching service personnel undertaking their technical training, using both live equipment and modern simulation tools
- Mentoring and assessing trainees, tailoring your approach to different learning styles
- Contributing to the ongoing modernisation and improvement of course materials
- Working alongside a close-knit, supportive team of instructors and technical specialists
- Helping maintain a safe, professional, and high-standard learning environment
What we're looking for:
- A solid background in electrical, electronic, or systems engineering, from a military trade, commercial maritime, aerospace, or another high-reliability technical environment
- Genuine, practical fault-finding and maintenance experience
- A real interest in mentoring, coaching, or passing your knowledge on to others
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well across diverse teams
- Eligibility to hold, or willingness to obtain, UK Security Clearance (SC) and an Enhanced DBS check
You do not need previous teaching or instructing experience to apply. If you have the right technical background, full support and funding will be provided to help you gain a recognised teaching qualification once in post.
