Software Developer — High-Performance Engineering

Newcastle upon Tyne (5 days onsite)

Up to £100,000 DOE + generous package

We are hiring a Software Developer to join an elite engineering consultancy delivering complex, mission-critical systems within the financial services domain. This role suits engineers who value

technical rigour, ownership, and solving genuinely hard problems in fast-paced environments.

The role

You will design, build, and own high-quality software solutions, working closely with engineers and stakeholders to deliver robust, scalable systems. You’ll be trusted to apply sound judgement, challenge assumptions, and contribute meaningfully from day one.

What we’re looking for

  • Commercial experience as a Software Engineer, with strong skills in C#/.NET or other object-oriented languages such as Java or Python.
  • Experience working with SQL databases and exposure to cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS.
  • A delivery-focused engineer who takes ownership, communicates clearly, and thrives in demanding, collaborative environments.
  • A strong academic background, with a degree from a Russell Group university or a globally recognised equivalent.
  • A high-bar engineering environment with real ownership and impact.
