🔧 Platform Engineer (AWS) – National Security

📍 London (Hybrid)

💰 Up to £70,000 + bonus + benefits

If you’re a Platform Engineer who wants to do more than just build infrastructure — this is your chance to work on high-impact National Security programmes where your engineering decisions directly strengthen the UK’s cyber resilience.

I’m supporting a major global technology & intelligence organisation expanding its cloud engineering teams across secure government projects. They’re looking for people who combine strong AWS engineering with great communication — the kind of engineers who can collaborate, explain, influence, and shape solutions.

This is meaningful work, complex work, and work that genuinely matters.

What you’ll be doing

  • Designing and deploying secure AWS platforms for mission-critical systems
  • Building CI/CD pipelines used on high-sensitivity programmes
  • Working alongside multidisciplinary teams: DevOps, architects, software engineers, security specialists
  • Creating PoCs and leading delivery across complex cloud environments
  • Applying strong engineering discipline (testing, automation, quality gates, Git best practice)

What they’re looking for

  • Strong AWS deployment & platform engineering experience
  • Programming in Python, Java, JavaScript or .NET
  • Experience with CI/CD (Jenkins, Bamboo, Bitbucket, Git, TeamCity etc.)
  • Clear, confident communication — consulting-style profiles very welcome
  • Eligible for DV Clearance (10 years UK residency required)

Nice to have

  • Docker / Kubernetes
  • Ansible or similar automation
  • Exposure to ML/AI tooling (AWS/Azure/GCP)

Why this role stands out

  • Direct impact on UK National Security
  • Complex engineering challenges — not just maintenance
  • Brilliant internal progression pathways across cloud, cyber, and data
  • Flexible hybrid working + strong benefits package
  • A culture built around engineering excellence, learning and innovation
