Back End Developer
Location: London, hybrid
Salary: Up to £80,000 + 10% bonus
Working pattern: 2 days onsite
About the Role
A growing technology innovation hub within a major global automotive group is expanding its engineering team in London. Following a recent acquisition, the focus has shifted from a single consumer platform to building modern, scalable technology solutions used across a large enterprise group and its partners.
This role sits within a collaborative backend team building high-impact services at scale, using modern cloud-native tooling and strong engineering practices.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Designing and building highly scalable backend services using Python
- Developing cloud-native applications on AWS
- Working with microservice architectures and modern APIs
- Collaborating closely with Product, Design and Engineering peers
- Contributing to technical decisions, code reviews and continuous improvement
- Supporting high-quality, maintainable and secure systems in production
What They’re Looking For
- Strong backend engineering experience, primarily with Python
- Experience building and operating services on AWS
- Solid understanding of databases, data structures and clean code principles
- Comfort working in a backend-focused role rather than full stack
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
