Azure Senior Platform Engineer Contract | Outside IR35 | Competitive Day Rate (DOE) | 4-6 Months | Extensions Likely An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Azure Senior Platform Engineer to join a major public sector digital transformation programme.
This is an opportunity to work on a high-profile project focused on modernising cloud infrastructure, strengthening governance, and enabling enterprise-wide data management capabilities.
The Role As an Azure Senior Platform Engineer, you'll play a key role in designing, building and enhancing the Azure platform.
Working within a collaborative cloud engineering team, you'll help deliver secure, scalable and automated infrastructure while embedding best practice across governance, security and platform operations.
Key Responsibilities Design, build and maintain enterprise Azure platform services.
Develop and manage Azure Landing Zones.
Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Bicep or ARM.
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure Dev Ops or Git Hub.
Configure Azure governance through Policy, RBAC and Management Groups.
Work closely with architects, security teams and technical stakeholders to deliver secure cloud solutions.
Drive automation and continuous improvement across the Azure estate.
Required Experience Strong commercial experience as an Azure Platform Engineer or Cloud Engineer.
Deep understanding of Microsoft Azure infrastructure and platform services.
Experience with Azure Landing Zones and enterprise governance.
Strong Infrastructure as Code experience (Terraform preferred, Bicep or ARM also considered).
Experience building CI/CD pipelines using Azure Dev Ops or Git Hub Actions.
Knowledge of Azure networking, identity and security.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
