2nd Line Support Engineer
Location: Fareham (On-Site, Monday to Friday)
Security Clearance: SC required
The Opportunity:
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated 2nd Line Support Engineer to join a growing IT support team based on-site in Fareham, providing service desk and infrastructure support for a major defence education facility.
Key Responsibilities of a 2nd Line Support Engineer:
• Respond to and resolve Service Desk tickets in line with SLAs and internal procedures
• Provide support for Windows 10, Windows Server 2016/2019, and core Microsoft technologies
• Support and troubleshoot issues relating to Active Directory, Group Policy, and SCCM
• Work with Hyper-V and/or VMware to support virtualised infrastructure
• Assist in deploying, imaging, and maintaining end-user devices and software
• Contribute to documentation, process improvements, and project-based technical work
• Uphold security protocols and follow relevant policies related to access and configuration
Skills and Experience required:
Solid experience with or understanding of:
• VMware and/or Hyper-V
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Willingness to learn and grow technical capabilities
• Strong documentation and troubleshooting approach
• Driving licence required due to occasional travel to nearby sites
