About the Role
Our client is a global technology consultancy delivering some of the UK's most ambitious cloud and digital engineering programmes. They are looking for a Platform Engineer with strong DevOps expertise to help design, build and support secure, scalable cloud platforms across a diverse portfolio of public and private sector clients. You will work alongside experienced engineers, architects and delivery teams, using modern cloud-native technologies to automate infrastructure, improve software delivery and build highly resilient production environments. Every project brings a different challenge, giving you exposure to new technologies, industries and engineering practices.
What You'll Be Doing
- Building, deploying and supporting cloud-native platforms on AWS.
- Developing and maintaining Kubernetes environments in production.
- Creating infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code, primarily AWS CDK and Terraform.
- Designing and improving CI/CD pipelines to enable faster, more reliable software delivery.
- Working closely with development teams to improve automation, platform reliability and operational excellence.
- Implementing monitoring, logging and observability to improve platform performance and incident response.
- Using AI-assisted engineering tools such as GitHub Copilot to improve productivity and delivery quality.
- Collaborating directly with clients and contributing to engineering best practice across the wider business.
Ideal Background
- Commercial experience building solutions on AWS.
- Strong hands-on Kubernetes experience within production environments.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code using AWS CDK.
- Good working knowledge of Terraform.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps automation.
- Familiarity with Jira, Confluence and Bitbucket.
- Understanding of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), monitoring and observability.
- Strong communication skills and experience working within Agile delivery teams.
