This is an exciting opportunity for a Principal Structural Engineer to join a leading organisation delivering cutting-edge projects in the defence and marine sectors. In this role, you’ll work on complex structural steel analysis and design to support critical submarine build programmes. You’ll leverage your expertise in structural engineering, applying standards such as Eurocodes and British Standards, while utilising advanced tools like Abaqus and S-Frame.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting structural steel analysis for intricate designs.
- Supporting manufacturing, assembly, lifting, handling, and installation processes.
- Using finite element analysis, CAD modelling, and engineering schematics.
- Producing concept drawings, layouts, and technical outputs to meet project deadlines.
- Checking, approving, and validating engineering analyses and outputs.
Minimum Requirements:
- A degree in Engineering (BEng/MEng) or equivalent, or HND with significant experience.
- Expertise in structural steel analysis and mechanical engineering.
- Knowledge of lifting, handling, and LOLER regulations.
- Familiarity with tools such as Abaqus, Foran, MathCAD, and Excel.
- Experience in a production environment, ideally within marine or defence sectors.
- Chartered Engineer status.
- Previous experience in shipbuilding, offshore, or civil industries.
