Principal Solutions Architect (Software)
Location: Remote (UK) – (Excludes London)
Base pay range
£120,000 – £140,000 + 15% bonus + shares
Key Responsibilities
- Own and deliver high-quality architectural solutions for large-scale digital transformation programmes.
- Guide agile delivery teams by clarifying business outcomes, technical constraints, and architectural priorities.
- Lead architectural discussions with senior stakeholders, defining strategic direction and design principles.
- Support and grow teams of architects and engineers through mentorship, coaching, and career development.
- Represent architecture within account teams, contributing to customer strategy, proposals, and delivery assurance.
- Champion technology standards, innovation, and knowledge-sharing across the organisation.
- Influence policies, frameworks, and technical strategy for long-term delivery success.
- Balance hands‑on architectural support with strategic leadership across multiple programmes.
- Demonstrated experience leading end-to-end architecture for varied and complex technology deliveries.
- Strong blue‑chip consulting experience.
- Ability to communicate architectural concepts clearly to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously, particularly under tight deadlines.
- Proven success in designing and delivering modern, multi-tier software systems.
- Strong understanding of solution architecture and stakeholder negotiation.
- Skilled in balancing non-functional requirements such as scalability, security, and performance.
- Engineering background with hands‑on understanding of software development practices.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure, including SaaS and PaaS offerings.
- Commercial awareness and experience influencing project or product success.
