We are seeking an experienced Pre-Sales Solution Architect to join our Applications Engineering practice. You’ll work closely with sales and business development teams to shape, define, and propose technical solutions that help clients modernise applications, integrate systems, and embrace cloud-native and digital experience technologies. Your role will span the entire pre-sales lifecycle – from initial client engagement through requirements discovery, solution shaping, and proposal development to final pitch. You’ll be a key bridge between client needs, sales strategy, and delivery capability, ensuring each engagement demonstrates technical excellence, commercial viability, and clear differentiation. A central focus of this role is driving the adoption and integration of AI-enabled capabilities across the software development lifecycle (SDLC). You’ll lead conversations with clients, showcase offerings, run technical demonstrations, and evolve propositions in application modernisation and AI-augmented engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- Scope, define, design, and propose solutions across application modernisation, integration, cloud-native applications, and digital platforms.
- Lead pre-sales solution architecture, including the full RFx lifecycle, bid ownership, and proposal development.
- Act as technical authority during client workshops, pitches, and presentations.
- Drive AI and GenAI-enabled capabilities in SDLC, including coding, automation, and testing.
- Own and refine go-to-market strategies for modernisation and AI propositions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional solution teams on complex, multi-service opportunities.
- Produce clear technical documentation, diagrams, and solution proposals.
Required Experience
- Significant experience as a Solution Architect in consultancy or client-facing roles.
- Proven track record of owning pre-sales solution architecture and managing large bids (£5m+).
- Broad architecture background across multiple technology stacks and cloud platforms.
- Hands‑on experience in backend engineering/architecture (e.g. Java, C#) and modern SDLC practices (3–5+ years).
- Delivery or integration experience with AI solutions in software engineering contexts (at least 2 implementations).
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, able to influence up to senior leadership level.
- Excellent communication skills, comfortable with both technical and business audiences.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and cloud-native technologies.
- Experience with DevOps and CI/CD toolchains (GitHub, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitLab).
- Understanding of application security, monitoring, and quality engineering practices.
- Experience working with global, distributed teams.
What’s On Offer
- Competitive base salary of £100,000 – £130,000.
- 15% annual bonus.
- Flexible hybrid working.
- Tailored benefits package to support wellbeing and work-life balance.
- Continuous learning and development opportunities, including leadership pathways.
- An inclusive, collaborative culture supported by a range of employee networks.
