Key Responsibilities of an Operational Cyber Vulnerability Researcher
- Conduct vulnerability research across a variety of operating systems, platforms and technologies
- Perform reverse engineering on complex software and systems
- Investigate vulnerabilities and support proof-of-concept exploit development
- Develop and utilise bespoke tools to support research activities
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary technical teams
- Share knowledge and mentor junior team members
- Deliver technical findings and recommendations to stakeholders
- Support the delivery of solutions aligned to customer and operational requirements
What We're Looking For in an Operational Cyber Vulnerability Researcher
- Experience in vulnerability research, reverse engineering or exploit development
- Familiarity with tools such as Ghidra, IDA Pro, Unicorn and debugging platforms
- Knowledge of low-level programming and system internals
- Understanding of the exploit development lifecycle
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly
- Experience across multiple platforms including Android, iOS or similar environments
- A passion for cybersecurity and emerging technologies
- Experience gained through professional work, research projects, bug bounty programmes or Capture The Flag competitions is highly valued
