About the role
Our client, a leading global technology consultancy, is looking for a Cloud Solution Architect to lead the design and delivery of large-scale cloud and OpenShift transformations. You’ll set technical direction for client platforms across public, private and hybrid cloud, while leading and mentoring a team of architects and engineers.
What you’ll be doing
- Partner with clients to translate business goals into technical requirements, defining modernisation roadmaps across cloud, containers, virtual machines and legacy estates using Red Hat OpenShift
- Design highly available, fault‑tolerant and secure enterprise platforms, applying Zero Trust principles across identity, networking, workloads and multi‑tenant environments
- Define OpenShift platform standards covering GitOps, multi‑cluster management, Policy-as-Code, lifecycle management, networking, segmentation and OpenShift Virtualization
- Address scalability, consumption and operational challenges, including disaster recovery models, observability, SRE and AIOps
- Lead and mentor architects and engineers, providing technical coaching, performance management and architectural governance
What you’ll bring
- Strong cloud and platform architecture experience, with the ability to link technical decisions to business outcomes such as cost, resilience and speed to market
- Excellent advisory skills, explaining complex concepts and trade‑offs to senior, non‑technical stakeholders
- Hands‑on experience designing and operating Red Hat OpenShift and Kubernetes platforms in large enterprise or regulated environments
- Deep experience with Red Hat Advanced Cluster Management, Argo CD and OpenShift GitOps
- OpenShift Virtualization and KubeVirt experience, including VMware‑to‑OpenShift migration strategies
- Strong Kubernetes networking knowledge, including OVN‑Kubernetes, Network Policies, Multus and CNIs such as Cilium or Calico
- Experience defining multi‑tenancy, micro‑segmentation and Zero Trust patterns, including translating VMware NSX firewall policies into OpenShift‑native controls
- A track record of producing HLDs, LLDs, ADRs, reference architectures and governance artefacts
- A genuine … (maybe truncated?) ...
- Red Hat certifications (e.g. EX280) or equivalent Kubernetes and cloud certifications
- Experience in financial services, government or other regulated industries
- Policy-as‑Code tools such as Open Policy Agent or Kyverno
- Hands‑on engineering background working closely with delivery teams
- Personal or open‑source repositories, prototypes or reference architectures to discuss at interview
