The Solutions Architect role offers the opportunity to design end-to-end technology solutions, guide delivery teams, and ensure solutions meet regulatory, security, and operational requirements.
The Role - Solutions Architect
The Solutions Architect position is a senior, delivery-focused role responsible for defining and delivering solution architectures across applications, data, integration, and infrastructure domains. Working closely with Enterprise Architects, delivery teams, and vendors, the Solutions Architect will ensure that solutions are aligned to the target architecture, fit for purpose, and scalable across the programme.
You will have the opportunity to:
- Design end-to-end solution architectures across applications, integration, data, and infrastructure
- Translate enterprise and business architecture into practical, scalable, and secure solutions
- Work closely with delivery teams, suppliers, and senior stakeholders to ensure successful implementation
- Provide hands-on architectural input during build, test, and deployment phases
- Influence solution design across cloud-based and hybrid environments
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce high-quality architecture and design documentation
- Align solutions with enterprise target architecture and programme strategy
- Support Agile and waterfall delivery teams through the full lifecycle
- Ensure solutions meet security, regulatory, and data protection requirements
- Engage with vendors and system integrators to validate designs and delivery approaches
- Collaborate closely with Enterprise Architects, programme teams, and stakeholders
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience working as a Solutions Architect on complex programmes
- Background in public sector, healthcare, or regulated environments
- Strong experience designing integrated, enterprise-scale solutions
- Hands-on knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure preferred)
- Experience with APIs, middleware, data integration, and modern SDLC practices
- Familiarity with Agile delivery and DevOps principles
- Excellent documentation and stakeholder communication skills
