You'll work on projects where secure engineering is fundamental, helping build resilient systems designed to withstand real-world cyber threats.
The Role
As a Senior Operational Cyber Software Engineer, you'll combine hands-on software engineering with technical leadership, guiding small project teams while remaining actively involved in design, development and secure delivery.
Responsibilities

- Lead technical delivery across projects while mentoring and supporting 2-3 engineers.
- Embed secure development practices throughout the software lifecycle.
- Identify security risks and implement appropriate mitigations.
- Contribute to architecture, code reviews and engineering best practice.

- Support the delivery of software resilient to evolving cyber threats.
What We're Looking For
You’ll ideally have experience in the following:
- Strong commercial software engineering experience at Senior Engineer or Technical Lead level.
- Experience with modern software engineering practices including version control, automated testing and CI/CD.
- A solid understanding of cyber security principles and secure software development.
- Experience developing software in environments where resilience against cyber threats or security incidents is a key consideration.
- Ability to assess cyber risks and build secure, robust solutions.
- Previous experience mentoring engineers or providing technical leadership on projects.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Candidates from Defence, National Security, Financial Services or other highly regulated industries are encouraged to apply.
What’s on Offer?
- Annual £7,000 tax-free DV bonus and comprehensive benefits package.
- Structured career progression and technical development.
- Dedicated training budget and ongoing learning opportunities.
- Work on highly classified, mission-critical programmes supporting UK National Security.
