The Opportunity
As Managing Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading the growth and development of strategic Public Sector and Transport accounts while overseeing the quality and performance of client engagements. The role combines executive relationship management, business development, commercial leadership, and transformational delivery. Working across key Public Sector sectors including Home Office & Policing, Tax & Welfare, Transport, and Defence & National Security, this individual will lead account strategy, identify new opportunities, and ensure exceptional outcomes across a diverse portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and expansion of strategic Public Sector & Transport client accounts, driving sustainable revenue growth and long-term partnerships.
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with senior executives and decision-makers across client organisations.
- Own overall account performance, ensuring high standards of delivery quality, client satisfaction, profitability, and operational effectiveness.
- Develop and execute targeted account growth strategies that create new business opportunities and strengthen existing partnerships.
- Identify emerging market opportunities and convert them into meaningful client engagements.
- Manage complex client portfolios and oversee investment decisions to meet or exceed commercial performance objectives.
- Evaluate and proactively manage risks throughout the lifecycle of client engagements.

About the Ideal Candidate

Experience required
- Over 12 years of professional services or consulting experience, with a proven progression into senior leadership roles.
- At least 10 years of Public Sector and Transport business development experience, including 5+ years in leadership positions.
- Deep sector expertise and an established network across Public Sector and Transport environments.
- A strong record of winning and growing complex consulting opportunities across existing and new client accounts.
- Experience managing procurement-led opportunities, including MSP/VMS frameworks and Statement of Work (SOW) engagements.
- Demonstrated success leading large-scale, multi-disciplinary consulting programmes and delivering measurable business outcomes.
- Experience managing geographically distributed teams and complex stakeholder environments.
- The ability to solve challenging business and technical problems through innovative and practical thinking.
- Exceptional communication, relationship‑building, and stakeholder management capabilities.
- A degree from an accredited university; postgraduate qualifications or relevant professional certifications would be advantageous.
