Project Context: Supporting the stabilization and automation of a multi-cloud environment spanning AWS and Azure to improve system resilience and developer velocity.

Role Overview: We are looking for a hands‐on SRE with a DevOps mindset to bridge the gap between our AWS and Azure platforms. You will focus on improving the reliability, scalability, and observability of our production services. As a contractor, you are expected to hit the ground running, auditing our current IaC (Infrastructure as Code) patterns and implementing automated failover and monitoring strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Infrastructure Automation: Standardize and optimize Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or Pulumi across both AWS and Azure environments.
  • Reliability Engineering: Define and implement SLIs, SLOs, and Error Budgets for critical services to ensure high availability.
  • Multi-Cloud Connectivity: Manage and troubleshoot hybrid/multi-cloud networking (e.g., AWS Direct Connect, Azure ExpressRoute, or Site-to-Site VPNs).
  • Container Orchestration: Maintain and scale Kubernetes clusters (EKS and AKS), ensuring best practices for security and resource allocation.
  • CI/CD Optimization: Streamline deployment pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps) to reduce lead time for changes and improve the Change Failure Rate.
  • Observability: Enhance full‐stack visibility using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or New Relic across the multi‐cloud footprint.
  • Incident Response: Act as an escalation point for complex production issues; lead blameless post‐mortems to ensure long‐term fixes.
