What You’ll Be Doing:
- End-to-End Engagement: Lead delivery of security testing projects, including initial scoping, execution, and final client wash-up meetings.
- Comprehensive Testing: Perform application (web and mobile), infrastructure, objective-based, and intelligence-led security tests.
- Reporting & Communication: Produce high-quality, detailed reports and presentations tailored for both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
- Risk Management: Ensure the safe and responsible use of testing tools, implementing strict controls to limit operational risks during customer engagements.
- Innovation: Develop and refine scripts, tools, and techniques to enhance the overall capabilities of the Security Testing team.
- Collaboration: Engage in active knowledge sharing with internal teams, including Threat Intelligence, Incident Response, and the wider security consulting community.
- Technical Proficiency: Proven experience in security testing projects with a comprehensive, practical knowledge of modern testing tools, techniques, and procedures.
- Client Management: A strong understanding of client needs, specifically regarding testing outcomes, stakeholder engagement, and risk mitigation.
- Proactive Mindset: A self-starter capable of identifying potential problems early and developing effective solutions using your own initiative.
- Time Management: The ability to meet strict deadlines and prioritise workloads effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Specialized Interests: Technical skills with a genuine interest in at least one of the following: adversary emulation, vulnerability discovery, reverse-engineering, or emerging technologies.
- Certifications: Current CHECK Team Member status or equivalent certifications (e.g., OSCP). Candidates must be able to reach this level within the first 3 months of employment.
Desirable Skills (Nice to Have):
- Development: Experience in high-level scripting (Python), mid-level languages (C/C++), or low-level languages (ASM).
- Systems Knowledge: Experience in application/OS hardening, database management, or general security operations.
- Sector Experience: Previous experience testing within Government, Telecommunications, Energy, or Financial Services sectors.
- Research: Experience in exploit development or in-depth vulnerability research.
