Type: Permanent Senior Java Engineer - Payments UK Wide or Dublin | Remote First | Permanent We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Java Engineer to join a leading technology consultancy delivering large-scale payment transformation programmes for major banking clients.
This is a hands-on engineering role focused on the development and delivery of modern, cloud-based payment platforms.
You'll work with experienced engineering teams and banking stakeholders to build highly scalable, secure and resilient payment solutions.
ICON IPF experience is essential for this position.
The Role As a Senior Java Engineer, you will
- Develop and deliver large-scale payment solutions using Java 11, Spring Boot and microservices.
- Work extensively with ICON IPF within complex payment environments.
- Design and implement scalable, cloud-based solutions within AWS.
- Build and integrate asynchronous, event-driven services using Apache Kafka.
- Work with ISO 20022 payment standards, schemes and payment types.
- Contribute to technical design, development, testing and deployment across the full software development lifecycle.
- Work closely with banking clients and technical stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver robust payment solutions.
- Collaborate with architects, developers, business analysts and wider delivery teams.
- Support the development of high-quality, maintainable code within modern engineering practices.
