Overview
In this Senior DevOps role you help design, automate and operate cloud platforms that support critical software services for national security and central government. You will work in a multidisciplinary Agile team to provision, monitor and optimize cloud infrastructure and ensure reliability, security and performance in secure environments. You’ll influence technical decisions, promote DevOps best practices and share knowledge with peers. This role offers hands-on impact across the DevOps lifecycle in a mission-critical context.
Responsibilities
- Design, automate and support cloud platforms underpinning critical services
- Provision infrastructure and implement monitoring and optimisation across the lifecycle
- Improve reliability, security and performance of cloud environments
- Contribute to technical decision-making and drive DevOps best practices
- Mentor and share knowledge with less experienced engineers
- Support building resilient, scalable, highly available cloud setups
Key requirements
- Experience with AWS cloud platforms and services
- Kubernetes and Docker container technologies
- Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or similar
- CI/CD pipeline development with GitLab, Jenkins or equivalent
- Monitoring/observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana or Elastic
- Secure infrastructure, automation and platform engineering
- Agile delivery within cross-functional teams
- Experience with Helm, Vault, Packer, Artifactory, Nexus or serverless tech would be beneficial
