We’re working with a leading change and transformation consultancy that is looking to hire an experienced AI & Data Architect into its Technology & Data practice. This is an excellent opportunity for a Data Architect from a consultancy background who enjoys working directly with clients, solving complex business problems and designing modern, scalable data solutions.

The Role

As a Manager – AI & Data Architect, you’ll take ownership of end-to-end data architecture across complex transformation programmes, working closely with clients, technical teams and senior stakeholders. You’ll be responsible for designing solutions across modern data platforms, cloud, data engineering, analytics and AI, while providing technical leadership and architectural governance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and architect end-to-end data solutions, from ingestion and processing through to analytics and visualisation.
  • Design and oversee scalable data pipelines and ETL processes supporting BI, analytics and data science.
  • Develop conceptual, logical and physical data models, including dimensional, relational and Data Vault approaches.
  • Design solutions integrating modern and legacy technology platforms.
  • Establish architecture best practices around security, scalability, performance and cost optimisation.
  • Provide technical leadership, architecture governance and design documentation across data initiatives.
  • Develop data quality, governance, metadata and data management frameworks.
  • Explore how AI and Machine Learning can enhance data solutions through automation, anomaly detection and predictive data quality.
  • Translate complex technical concepts and data insights into clear recommendations for senior stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the development of new architecture approaches, technologies and propositions.
  • Work directly with clients to understand their challenges and translate business requirements into practical technology solutions.

What We’re Looking For

A consultancy background is essential for this position. We’re looking for an experienced Data Architect who can demonstrate:

  • 5+ years' experience in Data Engineering / Data Architecture, with strong experience designing ETL processes, data pipelines and data storage solutions.
  • Previous experience working within a technology, data or management consultancy in a client-facing capacity.
  • Experience leading data engineering projects, workstreams or technical teams.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud data platforms and modern data services.
  • Experience with platforms such as Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, Databricks or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of data modelling, data warehousing, Lakehouse and modern data architecture.
  • Experience with data governance, data quality and metadata management.
  • Exposure to AI/ML integration within data solutions and an understanding of AI governance.
  • Experience with visualisation platforms such as Power BI, Tableau or Looker.
  • Strong SQL and data engineering capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage confidently with senior technical and business stakeholders.
