An experienced Infrastructure Engineer is required to support a large-scale cloud transformation, focused on migrating legacy on-premise environments into Microsoft Azure and modernising Microsoft 365 services. The role involves maintaining hybrid infrastructure, enhancing automation and security, and contributing to a range of modern workplace and infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead or support migration projects from on-premise servers to Microsoft Azure, including IaaS, PaaS, networking, and identity integrations.
- Deliver M365 migration and optimisation work covering Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Intune.
- Manage and improve hybrid environments spanning Active Directory, Azure AD/Entra ID, and Microsoft Endpoint Manager.
- Implement and maintain secure and scalable infrastructure solutions across Azure and onāprem data centres.
- Automate deployments, configuration, and patching using PowerShell, Terraform, or ARM templates.
- Monitor performance, ensure compliance, and strengthen security through best-practice controls and governance.
- Collaborate with project, network, and security teams to support the ongoing cloud adoption roadmap.
- Maintain documentation and provide technical guidance to internal teams.
Qualifications and Skills
- Proven experience in infrastructure engineering, systems administration, or cloud operations.
- Handsāon experience with onāprem to Azure migration projects and hybrid AD environments.
- Strong technical knowledge of Microsoft 365 services (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, Intune).
- Proficiency in PowerShell and infrastructureāasācode tools (Terraform, ARM templates).
- Familiarity with networking, security, and identity management within Azure and onāprem contexts.
- Experience with VMware or HyperāV virtualisation and backup/disaster recovery tools.
- Understanding of DevOps principles and CI/CD automation.
- Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
