The company is a boutique but global commodities firm with a global presence. Their platforms have been essential in spurring on the world’s adoption of renewable energy and much, much more. They are an investor in people, offering a nurturing environment with a massive focus on developing its people’s skills.

Why this job? Why now? The business is growing strategically, which means it needs someone highly technical to step up as it continues to make waves in the commodity industry.

What this role offers you:

  • Gain training and development on what it takes to steer, coach and lead technical aspects of key data projects.
  • Take a key role in the adoption of new technologies, seeing advancements in your own skill set in the form of AI skills etc.
  • Learn by osmosis—your team is highly skilled and experienced. Regardless of seniority there will always be someone present to help you thrive.

The ideal person:

  • 8+ years experience in data engineering roles, most recently working with traders on FO applications.
  • Background in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Analysis, Data Science, Information Systems, or commensurate experience.
  • Experience with Commodities or Financial Markets (front office applications).
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python for Data Crawling, Parsing, etc.
  • Master Pandas library.
  • Experience with Analytical / Time‑series databases (e.g. Redshift, Clickhouse).
  • Cloud and devops experience (AWS).

The reward: impactful projects await at a company that has been instrumental in the advancement of energy trading in a world making its transition to a cleaner future. Beyond the skill‑based benefits this opportunity offers, you will also receive:

  • A salary of £50,000‑£180,000 depending on experience.

  • Medical, dental and life insurance.
  • External and internal training.
