An outstanding opportunity has arisen for a Senior AI Engineer to provide technical leadership across complex insurance and artificial intelligence engagements. You will be working directly with customer teams and executive stakeholders to shape, build and deploy production-grade AI solutions. The role requires someone capable of influencing technical strategy and architectural direction while remaining deeply involved in hands-on software development.

This position will suit a lead engineer, principal engineer or hands-on architect with strong insurance knowledge, excellent customer-facing skills and a proven record of delivering complex enterprise software and AI solutions.

What you need:

  • Extensive experience within software engineering, AI engineering, solution architecture, customer engineering or technology consulting
  • A proven record of architecting, building and deploying production-grade software at enterprise scale
  • Strong recent hands-on programming experience using Python, Java, TypeScript, JavaScript or a comparable language
  • Advanced practical knowledge of artificial intelligence, machine learning, generative AI, agentic AI and enterprise AI deployment patterns
  • Advanced knowledge of AWS, Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud
  • Strong experience with APIs, integrations, automation, data platforms and enterprise architecture
  • The ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable, secure and maintainable technical solutions
  • Significant customer-facing consulting experience, including engagement with executive, technical and operational stakeholders
  • Deep insurance or InsurTech experience covering areas such as underwriting, claims, policy administration, pricing, customer servicing, distribution, fraud, reinsurance or risk
  • Strong understanding of enterprise AI governance, auditability, explainability, security and responsible AI
  • Experience owning the full solution lifecycle, including discovery, architecture, development, deployment, adoption, optimisation and value realisation
  • Proven ability to make architectural decisions that balance speed of delivery with scalability, security, maintainability and operational excellence
  • Experience leading design reviews, mentoring engineers and promoting strong software-engineering standards
  • Commercial awareness and the ability to connect technical decisions with customer outcomes and business value
  • Relevant cloud, architecture, data, AI or cybersecurity certifications would be advantageous
