A growing National Security-focused tech consultancy is expanding its engineering capability in Gloucester and is looking to hire Site Reliability Engineers to support critical, customer-facing applications. This role sits between software engineering and operations ideal for someone who enjoys working on live systems, solving complex issues, and improving how applications are built and supported.

The position will involve working closely with development teams to resolve application-level issues, particularly where customers are impacted, while also building automation and long-term fixes to improve reliability and performance.   • Experience troubleshooting application issues in live/production environments
  • Understanding of how applications behave across the full stack (code, infrastructure, databases)
  • Experience with at least one of the following:

  • JavaScript / web technologies
  • Familiarity with Linux or Windows environments (e.g. Bash, PowerShell)
  • Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or OpenStack
  • Experience with monitoring/logging tools (e.g. ELK stack)
  • Knowledge of databases such as MongoDB or Elasticsearch
  • Understanding of CI/CD or deployment tooling (e.g. Chef, Puppet)
  • Experience with containerisation (e.g. Docker, microservices) is beneficial
  • Comfortable working in Agile environments
