Full Stack Software Engineer – Java / AWS | Up to £70,000 + Hybrid Working

Onsite Requirements: Hybrid Working (2-3 days per week)
About the Role
We're looking for a talented Full Stack Software Engineer to join a growing team delivering innovative software solutions for complex projects within the UK Central Government sector.
You'll work as part of a collaborative, Agile team designing, developing, testing, and deploying modern software systems that make a real impact. This is an opportunity to work across the full software development lifecycle, from initial concept through to delivery and support, using the latest tools and technologies.
What You'll Be Doing
• Designing, building, and testing bespoke full-stack applications in Java and AWS
• Developing and maintaining high-quality, secure, and scalable solutions
• Working with open-source technologies and modern frameworks (e.g. TypeScript, JavaScript, React)
• Building CI/CD pipelines with tools such as GitLab to automate quality and security checks
• Deploying software to public (AWS, Azure) and private cloud environments
• Contributing to architecture decisions and software design reviews
• Engaging directly with stakeholders to gather requirements and demonstrate new features
What We're Looking For
• Proven commercial experience in Java (back-end development)
• Strong knowledge of AWS (Lambda, EC2, S3, or similar)
• Experience with one or more front-end technologies: TypeScript, JavaScript, or React
• Exposure to Agile delivery environments
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
• Eligibility for UK Security Clearance (British citizen, UK resident 5+ years)
