I’m supporting a leading organisation within the Defence and National Security sector who are looking for an experienced Lead SOC Architect to join their team.

This is a senior technical role where you’ll take ownership of designing and shaping SOC capabilities for complex customers, working across architecture, technology, processes and operational requirements.

The Role

As Lead SOC Architect, you’ll work closely with customers and internal technical teams to understand their security challenges and translate these into effective, scalable SOC solutions.

You’ll be involved throughout the lifecycle of a SOC programme, from understanding requirements and developing the initial architecture through to detailed design, implementation and improvements to existing environments.

The role will give you the opportunity to work across a broad range of security capabilities, including SIEM, SOAR, EDR, vulnerability management and threat intelligence, while considering how these technologies fit within wider people, process and service requirements.

You’ll also be expected to provide technical leadership, challenge existing approaches and identify opportunities to improve the overall security maturity of customer environments.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience in SOC Architecture, Security Architecture or Cyber Security Architecture
  • Experience designing and implementing SOC capabilities
  • Strong knowledge of security technologies such as SIEM, SOAR, EDR, vulnerability management and/or threat intelligence
  • Understanding of how to build secure, scalable and resilient architectures
  • Experience working with both cloud and on-premise environments
  • Strong understanding of cyber security risks, threats and appropriate mitigations
  • Experience carrying out risk assessments and vulnerability management
  • Comfortable working directly with customers and senior stakeholders
  • Experience within Government, Defence, National Security or another highly regulated environment
  • Knowledge of architectural frameworks such as TOGAF or Zachman would be advantageous
  • Active SC clearance required; DV clearance highly desirable
