We’re building something serious in Defence AI. A rapidly scaling, well-funded technology business is expanding its engineering capability across AI, Machine Learning, Data, Software and Infrastructure — supporting Defence, National Security and Public Sector programmes across the UK.

This is not a single-role hire. We’re hiring across multiple disciplines with a clear focus on technical leadership, ownership and delivery in complex environments. We’re looking for engineers and leaders across:

  • AI Engineering (LLMs, RAG, Applied AI systems)
  • Machine Learning Engineering (model development, optimisation, deployment)
  • Data Engineering (Spark, Databricks, cloud data platforms)
  • Full Stack Software Engineering (end-to-end system ownership)
  • DevOps / Platform Engineering (CI/CD, Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure)
  • Low-Level / Embedded Engineering (high-performance, constrained systems)

What matters most: We’re not hiring based on job titles. We’re looking for people who:

  • Build and own complex systems end-to-end
  • Have experience in Defence, National Security or secure government environments
  • Understand production-grade engineering, not just prototypes
  • Can operate in ambiguous, high-trust technical environments
  • Take technical leadership seriously — regardless of seniority label

Technical leadership roles available: Alongside strong engineers, we are also hiring technical leads and principal-level specialists who can:

  • Set technical direction and standards
  • Lead multi-disciplinary teams
  • Engage with Defence and Government stakeholders
  • Shape architecture across large-scale programmes

Why this is different: This is a well-funded Defence AI business in serious growth mode — combining startup pace with defence-grade delivery. Engineers here are trusted to make technical decisions, influence architecture and work on systems that genuinely matter.

Package: Up to £120,000+ (higher available for exceptional candidates) UK Wide. Defence, National Security & Public Sector programmes. High-impact engineering across AI, data and secure systems.

If you’re building in Defence, AI or complex regulated environments and want more ownership, more influence and more technical depth — we should talk. Speak to Bradley.Collings@ansonmccade.com for more information.
