An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Embedded Software Verification & Validation Engineer to join a leading defence technology organisation developing some of the most advanced real-time embedded systems in the industry. Working as part of a highly skilled engineering team, you'll be responsible for verifying and validating software used within complex, safety-critical products. This role offers exposure to cutting-edge technology programmes where you'll play a key part in ensuring software performs reliably and meets demanding operational requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing structured test cases and procedures from system and software requirements.
  • Executing verification and validation activities across embedded software applications.
  • Capturing, analysing and reporting test results to support engineering decisions.
  • Working closely with software, systems and integration teams to resolve technical issues.
  • Supporting software qualification activities throughout the engineering lifecycle.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement of test processes and methodologies.

We're looking for candidates with:

  • Strong experience in Verification & Validation activities within an embedded software environment.
  • Previous embedded software development experience using Ada.
  • Experience translating requirements into robust test plans and test procedures.
  • Hands-on experience working within a laboratory or integration environment involving embedded software and electronic or electromechanical systems.
  • A good understanding of the full software development lifecycle.
  • Scripting experience to support testing and automation activities.
  • Experience within safety-critical environments or familiarity with standards such as DO-178C, DO-330 or Def Stan 00-55 would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of RTOS environments, automated testing approaches, model-based development or engineering tools such as DOORS, LDRA, Rapita or Rhapsody would also be beneficial.
